3 key Questions I have today are
1. Is there a such thing as Eternal Security?
2. Can you lose your salvation?
3. Was Jesus dying on the cross enough for our sins?
Read Hebrews chapter 5 verse 9
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Eternal life, Eternal security, Eternal salvation Is all through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Not by works but only through Christ. The emphasis of salvation is not by works. It is by the gospel. Trusting what He did for us. His death, burial, and Resurrection.
Now is there a such thing as Eternal security? In other words when a person is truly saved is he or she always saved?
There are many churches and denominations that say eternal Security is a lie and you can lose your salvation.
That is a lie, and I can show you today in the scriptures that I have. Which is biblical proof that once you are saved, you are always saved. What Jesus did on the cross for our sins were enough. That is why he said on the cross “it is finished.”
Let’s start off with Jesus who is God and what he says about Eternal life.
Turn to John chapter 3 verse 16 Jesus says
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
So, we can see the term everlasting life that says you Shall not perish. What does perish mean in that scripture? That means you should not go to hell. God does not intend for anyone to go to hell even though we all deserve it. But if you have eternal Life then you be in heaven with God.
So, if Jesus is saying that people who believe in him will have everlasting life, shouldn’t we believe it? What is this everlasting life that Jesus Offers?
Verse John chapter 3 verse 17-18
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
So according to the bible Jesus says he offers everlasting life to everyone who believes on him and accepting him as the savior.
John chapter 3 verse 36
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
So, if you are saved by believing in the gospel and trusting in Jesus as your Lord and savior you have everlasting life, you have eternal security, you have eternal salvation. Eternal is forever.
The definition of Eternal is Lasting or existing forever without an ending or a beginning.
So, you either have eternal life and you are going to heaven. But if you do not have eternal life and if you did not accept what Jesus did for you on the cross and you die lost you are going to hell and then to the lake of fire for eternity.
It is that simple and straight to the point that salvation is everlasting life. It is eternal life through believing in the gospel. That sounds like eternal security to me.
John chapter 5 verse 24 Jesus says
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
So, we have passed from death to life. So, we no longer are spiritually dead. We have everlasting life. We have it when we believe and trust in Jesus Christ. We receive eternal life. Salvation is by faith.
John chapter 6 verse 37
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Jesus Christ is speaking, and he is saying if you come to me, if you accept me as your savior, I will give unto to you eternal life, I will save you and I will never ever cast you out.
John chapter 6 verse 40
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
So, you either have eternal life, or you do not. If you do you have eternal security.
John chapter 6 verse 47
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
If you believe in Jesus, you have eternal life, you have eternal security, you have everlasting life in Jesus Christ
John chapter 10 verse 27-28
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
Notice Jesus says and verse 28 “they shall never perish” which means that you could not lose your salvation even if you tried.
Jesus says when your saved that no man can take you out of his hand. No man can pluck you out of that hand Jesus says that twice. The Bible makes it clear and Jesus makes it clear that once you accept him You are his.
That’s secure. That is eternal security when you your saved by the words of Jesus. You are in Jesus, and he has you and no one can take you away from him. No one can take away that eternal life that Jesus offers. If they can and if you can lose it, then it was not eternal, and you are calling God a liar. Eternal means forever. So, if you’re by Jesus Christ, then that means you your saved forever. All your sins past present and future are paid for. You Have salvation through what Jesus Christ did on Calvary. Not for our sin’s only but for the sins of the entire world, and you cannot lose it because Jesus is the one that gave it.
Now those were the words of Jesus Christ. It is that simple.
So, we know what our bible says about eternal salvation. Eternal security if we Can lose our salvation or not, which we cannot.
Now let us look at what Simon Peter has to say about Eternal life.
John chapter 6 verses 67-68
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.
It is either eternal or means forever, or its not. When God gives you eternal life you are going to heaven because he saved you and he gave his life on the cross for our sins.
If we have been born again, we’re going to heaven with God for eternity. Which is forever.
Acts chapter 4 verse 12
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
When you are saved, you are saved from hell. Meaning you are going to heaven. So, peter is saying you have eternal life.
Acts chapter 15 verse 11
11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
We believe Through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved by the gospel by the blood that will shed on Calvary from Jesus Christ our lthatj
In conclusion,
Eternal Security, also known as “once saved, always saved” Is the belief providing Christian believers with absolute assurance of their final salvation. No, we cannot lose our salvation. I just proved that in the bible.
You are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ; you are saved by faith and the finished work of Jesus and when you are saved, you are given a free gift. Which is eternal life. Which means your secured for all eternity because eternal means forever.
Amen
