How is your relationship with God? Does that matter to you? It matters to God. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 1:18a) Will you consider what the Holy Word of God teaches? It teaches that sin has brought a curse upon man and that there is an eternal penalty for that sin. Adam and Eve sinned against God, and ever since we all have been born in sin and separated from God by that sin. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12) “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.” (Genesis 3:8) Are you trying to hide from God? Are you trying to ignore Him? Are you trying to seek Him? Your sin is keeping you from Him! “Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” ( Isaiah 59: 1-2) You are in a terrible and dangerous position. You are living in sin, separated from God and there are drastic consequences for your sin. You are going to face consequences in this life and eternal punishment after death. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15) Do you realize how much danger you are in? This is bad news, but it is all true. God’s Word is true. God cannot lie. There are a host of other Bible verses which describe your condition and the danger that you are in.

However, there is good news. Adam and Eve sinned and were hiding from God but God came to them. He looked for them. He sought them. He still seeks sinners today. He is seeking you. “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) The Lord Jesus Christ is God and He became a man. He being God became flesh and became a sacrifice for sinful men. “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” ( Hebrews 2:9) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (II Corinthians 5:21) The Lord Jesus Christ, the sinless God-man, died for our sins, paying the penalty for sins and was buried. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) There is more good news. Not only did Christ die for our sins but he arose from the grave. Through His death, burial and resurrection we can have newness of life. This new life is eternal life. “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” ( I Corinthians 15:3-4) “That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:21) “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” (II Timothy 1:10)

God’s wants you to be saved from your sinful and eternally condemned state. The Lord Jesus Christ has paid the sin debt but that does not automatically make you safe. You must come to Christ in repentance and belief for eternal salvation. Repentance means to turn. You must not make excuses for your sin or underestimate how awful it is. You must see your sin and even your own righteousness as God sees it and as the Bible describes it. You must turn from it, and come to Christ in belief and trust and receive Him as Lord and Saviour. He is your only hope and the only way to have salvation and eternal life. “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6) “And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:2-3) “And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.” (Acts 11:21) “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;” (I Thessalonians 1:9) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” ( Romans 10:9)

Thank God for such good news! Jesus saves! He saves lost sinners! “When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Mark 2:17) Do you believe the Bible? Will you come to the Lord Jesus for salvation? Will you turn from your sin and seek His forgiveness? Will you believe and trust Christ for the salvation that He obtained for you through His death, burial and resurrection? Please be saved. That is God’s will. He does not want you to perish. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (II Peter 3:9)
